What is the difference between a internal balance crank, And a external balance crank?

In my mind a internal balance is the offset of the Rod, and Piston. Is that true?|||the throws on an internally balanced engine is drill to balance it and it just has a regular pulley

an externally balanced engine has a vibration damper that is the balancing piece with weight built into it|||There's no such animal as an externally balanced crank. All crankshafts have balance weights opposite each throw to offset the throw weight.

Some engines e.g. 4 cylinder V engines, have an extra "balance" shaft that helps to restore some balance to an unevenly firing engine.

Most engines have a "harmonic balancer" at the front of the crankshaft externally. Its purpose is to offset the twisting motion that occurs at particular revolutions, and attempt to stop these forces breaking the crankshaft. Maybe this is what you are referring to?|||i never heard of such a thing like that, maybe yourthing of a harmonic balancer, there's different types of thoses. damn i have to go
