I have a Nikon D80 and was wondering what's the best way to set my white balance when using a polarizing lens (I don't do auto on white balance)?
1. should i take the polarizing lens off, then set the white balance?
or
2 set the white balance with the polarizing lens?|||Set WB with the filter on the lens. Otherwise, you wouldn't be getting true white, would you? Happy shooting.|||Think of a polarizer as a ND filter. It will not change your balance.
No changes.
Remember always shoot in RAW. Color balance issues become irrelevant.|||Leave the polarizer on and shoot a white card.
Set your white balance off the shot of the card.|||You'll not need the polarizer for every shot and a polarizer does not affect the white balance. Either set the white balance with one of the camera presets, or set the white balance manually without the polarizer. Then attach the polarizer and adjust it as needed per the shot.
